Abstract
- The article discusses the latter part of the career of British journalist Sir Robert Donald (1860-1933), during which he headed the Empire Press Union and worked to promote the use of wireless telegraphy, an early form of radio communication. Donald's influence on imperial wireless policy and the news system in Great Britain and its dominions is discussed, with reference to the role of the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company, the British government's Wireless Telegraphy Commission, and other players.
