Abstract

The article presents a discussion of the moral obligations that physicians have to work towards the elimination of social inequities and health disparities that adversely effect public health. A discussion of the implications that the moral obligations have on medical education and on medical ethics education is presented. Research which has investigated the moral and ethical obligations of physicians is discussed.
