Road map for easing TSE controls.

Abstract: The article discusses six goals that should be achieved by the European Union (EU) proposed under "The TSE Road Map 2: A Strategy Paper on Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs) for 2010-2015." One of the objectives calls for an analysis of the culling policy in bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE)-infected herds. The European Commission (EC) stresses the need for any amendments to the restriction on the use of processed animal proteins (PAP) in feed for animals farmed for food production to be risk based.
