Competitive benchmarking for fleet cost management.

The objective of this research is to develop competitive benchmarking strategies for private fleet management to increase the cost efficiency of operating the fleet. Concepts and procedures of benchmarking developed in the literature are reviewed first. This is followed by the development of a benchmarking procedure specifically for private fleet cost control and management. An illustrative example using data from a local company is then given to demonstrate the use of this procedure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
