Abstract

The article presents a speech by artist Charles Schorre delivered at the annual awards dinner of the Society of Illustrators in New York on January 15, 1967, in which he talks about the reason behind the society's existence, discusses the impact of the introduction of photography to the art sector and claims that illustration, fine arts, typography and photography are interrelated and they should all be used by the artist.
