Abstract
- The article features graphic designer, Alexey Brodovitch. He was born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1898 and later became a captain in the Imperial Cavalry. Exiled in Paris, France in 1920, Brodovitch found a job to design and make scenery for the Diaghilev Ballet. He began to achieve fame in 1925 after winning two Grand Prix, two gold medals, and three silver medals at the Paris International Exhibition of Decorative Arts. He left for the U.S. in 1930 and taught at the Philadelphia Museum's School of Industrial Art.
