Abstract
- The article features painter Jane Oliver and describes her personal method. Oliver was born in West Haven, Connecticut, and studied at the Franklin School of Professional Arts on a scholarship. She works on the spot when there is an opportunity and paints in small scale first by making thumbnail sketches and then works on a watercolor block. She is a recipient of the Klein and Grumbacher Awards, Audubon Artists, and the Stroud Prize, among others. She is a member of Audubon Artists, American Watercolor Society, and National Association of Women Artists.
