Abstract

The article presents a study which develops and optimizes a liquid nitrogen-free preconcentration unit to measure the ambient nitrous oxide (N<subscript>2</subscript>O) isoptomers using quantum cascade laser absorption spectroscopy (QCLAS). It states that 101 of ambient air are desorbed in 50 ml of synthetic air and preconcentrated on a HayeSep D trap during the standard operation. The results show that a quantitative N<subscript>2</subscript>O recovery of greater than 99% has been achieved.
