The article features the Jules Stein Eye Institute (JSEI) at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) as a center for vision science research. Founded in 1966 by ophthalmologist Jules Stein and his wife, Doris, JSEI aims to preserve and restore eyesight. Statements from JSEI department chairman and director Bartly J.
