Abstract
- The article discusses the impact of the global financial crisis in 2008-2009 on Canada. It states that when the commodity prices depreciated, there was a sharp decline in the stock and the exchange rates in Canada. It mentions that employment and real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) declined more rapidly as compared to the earlier recessions of 1981-1982 and 1990-1991.
