Abstract

The authors comment on the link between sleep disorders and health problems as explored by two articles in the same issue. Previous studies have shown that lack of adequate sleep resulted to reduced concentration, impaired performance and daytime sleepiness. But they claim that general practitioners in Great Britain lack training on recognising various forms of sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea. They add that people with sleep disorder symptoms should be assessed for depression, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular events.
