As the battlespace has evolved, so has the need for effective and comprehensive military doctrine. Of the three services, the British Army has faced the broadest range of challenges to considered wisdom as the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan have unfolded. This has placed a premium on learning and adapting, in which the new Force Development and Training Command is an essential step.
