Abstract
- The article features painter, pen-and-ink illustrator and author Roy P. Madsen and explains his colored wax engraving technique in painting. It is inferred that a painting which used a colored wax engraving has a finished appearance that suggests a merging of old steel engraving and encaustic or wax painting. It is said that his works reflects the influence of John James Audubon, whose work he has studied for a long period.
