Abstract

In this article the author discusses his views on watercolor painting and explains his method of working with the medium. He states that in his travels throughout the communist states, Latin America and the U.S., he rarely encounters portraits using watercolor. He claims that this is due to the fact that the medium is a challenging one, requiring tremendous control. When working with watercolor, he prefers to stand in order to change his vantage point easily, uses an English mounted watercolor board, and French watercolor paper.
