Abstract

The article discusses the historical documents in India that were missing or were prevented access by the authorities. Such documents include the records on Subhas Chandra Bose, particularly the 121 exhibits of the G. D. Khosla Commission, which investigated the controversy behind the death of the revolutionary leader. The other documents that were missing include the papers concerning the death of former Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and the Henderson Brooks Committee report on the performance of the Army during the Sino-Indian War of 1962.
