Pupils and the Media.

The article reports that Baroness Thomas of Walliswood has asked Her Majesty's Government about its plans to improve pupils' understanding of the media at the British House of Lords on December 9, 2009. She mentioned that legislator Jo Swinson has launched a campaign to prevent publication of artificially enhanced models. Baroness Thomas cited a study which found that the portrayal of women's beauty in the media has resulted in a 47 percent increase in the admission of teenage girls to hospital for the treatment of bulimia or anorexia in 2009.
