Abstract
- The article probes into plans by China to reduce tax rebates starting July 2010. This is expected to increase the cost of exporting some steel and metal products. It was pointed out that the rebate cuts may be focused on steel since it is both high pollution and high energy consuming but other nonferrous markets, including lead and zinc products, may also be affected.
