Abstract

The article examines the similarities and differences between perspectives on transformational leadership in the U.S. and the Confucian' view of transformation. It explores the idea of transformational leadership which is encouraged by scholars referring to two distinguished educators in China namely Confucius and Cai Yuanpei who are both successful transformational leaders. It tackles how transformational leadership and Confucian concept of transformation begun and progressed, its true meaning and core values as well as the similarities and difference between both. It also discusses the three key elements in the success of Confucius and Cai as transformational leaders.
