EFFECT OF EXPERTISE LEVEL ON THE PERCEPTUAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GYMNASTS.

The article reports on research conducted to investigate how visual and somatosensory information influenced handstand performance according to expertise level in gymnasts and to determine whether the general perceptual characteristics of gymnasts are linked with their handstand performances. Researchers evaluated 17 gymnasts. They found that expert gymnasts had better performance in the handstand and that they did not cope better than non experts with somatosensory changes.
