Abstract

The article discusses the use of medication to treat other diseases that afflict cancer patients. It cites the results of a research paper by the West of Scotland Coronary Prevention Study (WOSCOPS). The research sought to find out how patients who were undergoing treatment for cancer reacted to medication which targeted other diseases such as hypertension and heart ailments. It states that the findings were generally inconclusive, but that use of diverse drugs to treat various problems within the same patient is known to impact them greatly.
