Abstract

The article discusses how amides are extracted from the Uvaria microcarpa, which based on previous studies contained some phenanthrene-carboxylic acid lactams. It says that the stems of Uvaria microcarpa were gathered in June 2007 from Hainan Province in China and identified by Mr. Zhu Ping of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Hainan Tropical Botanic Garden. Tables that show the spectroscopic data of the amides obtained from Uvaria microcarpa including uvariadiamide and velutinam are presented.
