Abstract

Decay properties of an isotope <superscript>266</superscript>Bh and its daughter nucleus <superscript>262</superscript>Db produced by the <superscript>248</superscript>Cm(<superscript>23</superscript>Na,5n) reaction were studied by using a gas-filled recoil separator coupled with a position-sensitive semiconductor detector. <superscript>266</superscript>Bh was clearly identified from the correlation of the known nuclide, <superscript>262</superscript>Db. The obtained decay properties of <superscript>266</superscript>Bh and <superscript>262</superscript>Db are consistent with those observed in the <superscript>278</superscript>113 chain by RIKEN collaboration, which provided further confirmation of the discovery of <superscript>278</superscript>113.
