Abstract

The article reports on the GS1 UK and trade magazine "Nursing Standard" study showing that nurses in Great Britain spend about 26 days a year searching for missing equipment and paper-based records, wasting 1 billion pounds in wage costs. It says that staff are calling for technology to help them do their jobs properly and make their day-to-day lives easier. It notes that most wanted technologies include real-time view of stock levels, and electronic records to track the location of equipment.
