The under-utilization of financial resources created opportunities for conglomerate takeovers and an increase in competition. Myopia can exist whenever the corporation fails to invest strategically. Included is the importance of deciding on a target rate of per-share earnings growth. Offered are strategies for how corporations should invest. Additional topics include return on assets, return on equity, and the rate of return.
