Chapter 2: ASEAN AND INDIA.

Chapter 2 of the book "Southeast Asia in the Global Economy: Securing Competitiveness and Social Protection" is presented. It examines the extent to which India and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) can cooperate to manage jointly the challenges arising from globalization. It finds that ASEAN and India share a largely complementary relationship as regards their trade patterns, economic structures, and demographics. Included are tables showing their external and domestic macroeconomic indicators for 2003.
