Thailand: THAILAND IN 2008: Democracy and Street Politics.

A chapter of the book "Southeast Asian Affairs 2009" is presented. It explores the roots of the divisions in the Thai society including the regional differences and the classes. It highlights 2008 as a difficult year that weakened the political system of Thailand brought about by the dissolution of political parties and the emergence of new ones with the same membership. The chapter also discusses the economic and foreign policies of Thailand.
