Abstract
- Mathematical models for predicting the temperature and thermal degradation have been developed, which include all important phenomena during the engagement of wet friction clutch. The thermal model consists of heat balance for the separator, friction lining, core plate, and ATF in the clearance. The degradation mechanism and constants for the selected friction material obey the zeroth order reaction. The model predictions show good agreement with experimental measurements.
