Abstract

The article examines the distribution of borna disease virus (BDV) antigen in tissues of naturally infected bicolored white-toothed shrews, Crocidura leucodon. The authors mention that immunohistochemistry and TaqMan real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) were used in the assessment. They report that the study indicate that BDV antigen and nucleic acid were identified in several organs like the nerve tissue and neurons and in parenchymal cells.
