Abstract
- The article offers information on the concepts of space and place in the musical scores created by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for the musical film "The Sound of Music." It says that freedom of musical space was established by the opening number of the character Maria in which music was woven in nature. It explores the different songs used in the film such as the final anthem "Climb Every Mountain," which depicts the journey of the von Trapp family to gain freedom.
