Abstract
- The authors discuss the controversies concerning tube feeding and gastrotomies in patients with dementia. They explore the most common questions concerning tube feeding and gastrotomies with respect to dementia as well as the lack of evidences on outcomes of various studies regarding the issue. The authors suggest the need for clinicians to establish interventions that will include an option of gastrostomy and to conduct further study to clarify the effectiveness of the procedure.
