Abstract
- The article offers information on the new paradigm for global climate models (GCMs) radiative transfer (RT) code intercomparison in the U.S. It highlights the need for Continual Intercomparison of Radiation Codes (CIRC) in assessing code performance of radiation measurements. It notes that the reference calculations' quality of CIRC is based on atmospheric radiation measurement from the Department of Energy. CIRC seeks to provide documentation standards for radiation code performance.
