Abstract
- The volume and compressibility changes on mixing of water and poly(ethylene glycol 400) were measured with a vibration densimeter and a sing-around velocimeter over the whole mole fraction at various temperatures. The apparent molar expansibility and compressibility of water were calculated and characterized by distinct maxima and minima, respectively. These results may be attributed to the hydration behavior of the polymer chain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
