Abstract

In this article, the author discusses aspects of a study on the sympathetic and stress activity of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in hypertension. He is critical of the effects of increased ROS production and changes of blood pressure regulation on the amelioration of human hypertension. He says that renal hypertension can also be caused by increased sympathetic nervous system (SNS) reactions and concludes that the study is essential in understanding SNS activation in renovascular hypertension.
