Abstract
- The ferromagnetic transition temperatures have been measured on two bathes of perovskite manganese oxides such as (La<subscript>1- x </subscript>R<subscript> x </subscript>)<subscript>2/3</subscript>Ca<subscript>1/3</subscript>MnO<subscript>3</subscript>(R=Ce, Pr, Nd, etc.) and La<subscript>2/3</subscript>(Ca<subscript>1- y </subscript>Cd<subscript> y </subscript>)<subscript>1/3</subscript>MnO<subscript>3</subscript>. It is found that the (La<subscript>1- x </subscript>R<subscript> x </subscript>)<subscript>2/3</subscript>Ca<subscript>1/3</subscript>MnO<subscript>3</subscript> samples have obviously different Curie temperature T <subscript> C </subscript> although their (r<subscript>A</subscript>) (the average A-site cation radius) are almost identical, and the T <subscript> C </subscript> in the system of (La<subscript>1- x </subscript>R<subscript> x </subscript>)<subscript>2/3</subscript>Ca<subscript>1/3</subscript>MnO<subscript>3</subscript>(R=Ce, Pr, Nd, etc.) and La<subscript>2/3</subscript>(Ca<subscript>1- y </subscript>Cd<subscript> y </subscript>)<subscript>1/3</subscript>MnO<subscript>3</subscript>. It is found that the (La<subscript>1- x </subscript>R<subscript> x </subscript>)<subscript>2/3</subscript>Ca<subscript>1/3</subscript>MnO<subscript>3</subscript> compounds increases with increasing y although (r<subscript>A</subscript>) decreases slightly. It is suggested that the Curie temperature should be influenced by the average local A-site magnetic moment in the ferromagnetic perovskite manganite system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
