Abstract

The article discusses the application of critical race theory and critical pedagogy in the use of voice in African American educational theory. She notes that critical pedagogy is an approach to imparting that uses a theoretical framework by which social injustices are judged. She states that critical race theory occurred to take on the social, political, educational and economic concerns of race. The author provides an example of a counterstory. Information on the Senior Advocacy Leadership Training (SALT) program is also offered.
