Abstract
- The article assesses ecocide and the environmental justice movement in relation to the book "Herbicidal Warfare: The Ranch Hand Project in Vietnam," by Paul Cecil. The author participated in the U.S. defoliation program Operation Ranch Hand during Vietnam War. The recognition of the environmental toxic burdens facing communities of color has reportedly driven the U.S. movement. The ideology confronting Cecil about the use and proximity to chemicals is said to unite communities affected by toxic burdens such as Agent Orange victims in Vietnam.
