Abstract

The article highlights a study on the role played by the orphan nuclear receptor small heterodimer partner (SHP;NR0B2) in osteoblastic bone formation. SHP usually regulates a range of cellular events like cell proliferation, differentiation and metabolism and during osteoblast differentiation, it is regulated by bone morphogenetic protein 2, which is important in bone formation. The study found that SHP plays a positive regulator in bone formation as it supplement osteoblast differentiation by regulating Runx2 activity.
