Abstract

The article focuses on the major Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS) findings on patient quality of life (QoL) and depression and their associations with clinical outcomes. In the DOPPS, patient functioning and well-being have been assessed by completion of the Kidney Disease Quality of Life Short Form (KDQOL-SF), a questionnaire. DOPPS participants in the U.S. had the highest mental component summary score, while Japan had the highest physical component summary score.
