Abstract

The article focuses on a study concerning the risk factors and incidence of postoperative delirium (POD) elderly patients after undergoing elective and emergency surgery. Through invariable analysis, researchers found out that there were 13.2 percent of incidence of POD from 351 patients older that 65 years. Thus, incidence of POD is high in elderly patients for both emergency and elective surgery, leading to an increase in hospital care and perioperative mortality.
