PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE.

In this article, the author focuses on world language study programs and discusses the contribution of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACFTL). She thanked Bret Lovejoy, Executive Director of ACFTL, who played an important role in positioning world language education alongside the other core curricular areas under the U.S. Education Department. She further mentions about her meeting with the U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan along with Toni Theisen, ACTFL National Teacher for the year 2009.
