Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the kinetics of methionine and the rate of transsulfuration and transmethylation in healthy women with advancing gestation. Measured where the whole-body rate of appearance of methionine and phenylalanine among health pregnant women during the first, second, and third trimesters of pregnancy. Results indicate that uncomplicated pregnancy in humans is linked with a higher rate of transsulfuration and transmethylation of methionine in gestation.
