Abstract
- The article discusses the advantage of performing decompressive surgery earlier as a standard procedure of stroke care. It examines 40 consecutive patients who underwent decompressive craniectomy for large territory anterior circulation infarct in two neurosurgical centers and measures the age, Glasgow Coma Scale, and time from the onset of surgery using logistic registration. The results confirmed that early decompressive surgery has a better outcome.
