Abstract

A literary criticism of the book "A Handful of Rice," by Kamala Markandaya is presented. The novel, published in 1966, reportedly describes a picture of Indian society, both rural and urban. A description of the protagonist of the novel named Ravi is presented. Other characters in the novel are discussed. An overview of the story is given.
