Abstract

The article presents suggestions on securing protection against trademark infringement in China. It is advised to seek defensive registrations for other goods and services and seek standard trade mark registration for key goods or services if budget allows. It is stated that via either administrative means or judicial procedures, recognition of well-known trade mark status can be sought in China. It is recommended to bear in mind that well-known marks or signs are the key assets.
