Special Section on the 2008 Advanced Methods for Uncertainty Estimation in Measurement Workshop.

The author reflects on the workshop on Advanced Methods for Uncertainty Estimation in Measurement (AMUEM) organized by the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society from July 21-22, 2008 in Trento, Italy. He states that new approach has been an interest at the AMUEM to enable a correct simple expression and evaluation of measurement uncertainty. The author also expresses his gratitude for all the authors who submitted their papers and revisions to increase the quality of their work.
