Abstract

The article examines the Fenton-like oxidation and mineralization of phenol through the synthetic Fe(II)-Fe(III) green rusts as pollutants. Study demonstrates that green rusts has different reactivity toward phenol oxidation. This suggests that the oxidation reaction promoted by green rust may contribute to the transformation of the water contaminants in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (H<subscript> 2 </subscript>O<subscript> 2 </subscript>).
