League Table Leaders Stabilize As Vol Falls.

The article reports that leading banks in the global league tables were able to remain in their positions as issuance volumes in the U.S. decreased while issuance in Europe slightly improved in the second quarter of 2008. In the U.S. seven underwiters issued 11 collateralized debt obligation (CDO) deals. Meanwhile, only two deals were completed in the commercial mortgage-backed securities sector. In Europe, 10 dealers completed CDO deals, while commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities were reported to post slight issuance increase.
