Abstract
- The article discusses the emergence of virtual desktop computing systems. Virtual desktops utilize an off-site main data center as opposed to PC hardware at each workstation and as a result the technology may threaten the future of the makers of personal computers (PC). According to the author some corporate customers are looking for long term savings relating to computing and technology and claim that virtual desktops can accomplish that. INSET: VISUALIZATION VERSUS THE CLOUD.
