Abstract

The article presents a study which investigates a subset of systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients with early onset of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The researchers use clinical and hemodynamic data which were collected from 78 consecutive patients with PAH associated with SSc. The study reveals that PAH occurs in approximately half of SSc patients that is why annual screening for PAH should be needed for all patients after SSc diagnosis.
