Abstract

The article reports that Elbit Systems Ltd.'s subsidiary in the U.S. is in the discussion phase with the U.S. Marine Corps about its unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). Francis Govers, chief engineer for Elbit Systems of America Land Solutions, said that the Marine Corps is fascinated with hybrid electric systems for vehicles that could offer squad logistics support. Archer UGV is developed as a hybrid gasoline or diesel engine capable of carrying a 200-pound payload.
